It was truly wonderful to see all your scholars in school this week. Their smiling and happy faces made my day. I admit openly that being a people person makes me sad when we are online and very excited when we are in school. It is just who I am.
Just a couple of important notes about organization
1. All students are now linked in to their SFS Gmail account. In this account I showed them where the calendar is on the right side and how to access all the zoom links. As this is new for them, I expect it will take us a few tries to get it right but once done, it will be very smooth sailing. All my students said they liked this last year.
2. Students brought home many things;
i) Yearbook and Calendar (only returning students - new students should already have a calendar and they do not get last year's yearbook)
ii) Set of COVID slips for about the next month or so - just cut and sign each day they come to school. Please put somewhere safe as these are very important.
iii) A virtual learning workbook - this stays at home for use during our online learning. I do not want them using any other book. Please make sure they use this one and if they empty it, let me know and I will send a new one home.
iv) A virtual work folder. This goes home and back each day as I will be putting in all the work we will need to do during our online time. When that work is done, the work is put back in the folder and returned to school for my records and assessment.
v) Planner - each scholar needs to get this signed at home and return it to school each day. There is only one per student so the need to take special care of it.
Please remember that tomorrow is a virtual day and meetings are 8:00, 10:30, 12:30 (PE), 1:30 and 2:30(languages). Now that students have their email accounts up and working they can email me as needed. We also set up Seesaw any Google Classroom since I want to start using these very soon.
I accidentally drowned my computer last night so I will need to get a new one tomorrow. Might be a delay in getting messages out and also replying.
This week is online Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
I will switch over to Seesaw starting tomorrow for parent letters so please make sure you can connect . I sent the connecting letter home last Wednesday so check with them if you did not get it. Thanks for looking after this.
