daw.com - Nov 8

I have just completed assessing the math test that I gave the students earlier this week and things are not so good.  More than 50% of the class showed me that they have not mastered fractions. It is evident from this that we need to continue working on fractions some more.  Since fractions are going to be a big part of their math for the rest of their education, I feel that they need to strengthen this area before we move on to multiplication and division of fractions next week. You will be getting the unit 3 assessments on Monday.

This week we start our own independent research project for writing a report.  I have emphasized that the subject is not the concern.  Most important is the students showing they have learned the research process for reading, taking notes, drafting, revising and then for this report, publication. There are lessons on understanding vocabulary, primary sources, citing photos and pictures, writing for deeper meaning and revising for completion as part of the rest of this unit.

This is our last week of the Migration unit and we will summarize it all up by looking at our own migration stories.  There is a comparison of refugees children to us to complete, a website on migrant children and then a final pallet with all sorts of things all about us.  It should be a great way to both finalize the subject and also reflect on it.

Thank-you for helping your student with the Hanbok on Friday - with all the changes in the schedule for that day, I am proud to say that we had it well in hand and everything went off without a hitch.  I have added the pictures I took to this letter.  Please feel free to download any you want.

With things getting a little more regular here in Korea, I am hopeful that we are going to be back to school full time soon.  It is something I pray for every day.  Even so, we must always be prepared for the unexpected, especially since we cannot tell the future.  This is always on my mind as a plan my lessons and days ahead.  I want to thank-you for all you do to help your student when they are on virtual learning.  I think it really makes a difference.

On a personal note, I want to let everyone know that I will be retiring from teaching at the end of this school year and returning to Canada.  I have had a great 33 years of teaching of which 29 of it has been overseas and the memories and experiences shall live with me for many years to come.  Even so, I will continue to provide the best learning for your student until the last day of school.

Please stay healthy and safe.

daw.com - Oct 10

Here is this week’s learning schedule;

Monday - in school (day 4)

Tuesday - virtual learning (day 5)

Wednesday - virtual Learning (day 6)

Thursday - in school (day 1)

Friday - in school (day 2)

I find that we are moving long very nicely even with the interruption of virtual learning.  The only area I am concerned about is writing.  It is impossible for me to see how to help students when I cannot see what they are writing.  This has made teaching writing very hard to do.  I catch up with most of my students when they are in class but some are just not meeting the expectations.  We finished our first unit on Narrative Writing last week and move on to Research Reports this coming week.  This is a unit that many of the students like as we look at how to research a topic in full.

Our next reading unit is in line with the research unit.  The title is Tackling Complexity but mostly it is about making the most out of non-fiction books.  When I watch students “read” non-fiction books mostly all I see is a scanning of the pages looking at the pictures first and maybe some reading.  This unit will look at how to use the various text structures and writing styles to get the most from the reading.

This coming week we will finish out math unit on Multiplication and Division of whole numbers.  I am finding that many of the students still are unsure of their abilities in division so I will be adding in review lessons to continue strengthening this area.  We are still completing our Resort Report project and hope to be finished it in the next 10-12 days.  The next project is fractions based and involves a bakery.  It ties in nicely with our next unit on Fractions and Mixed Numbers.  We will write the final assessment for this unit sometime this coming week.

Our migration simulation on Thursday was a huge success and it really gave the scholars something to think about as if they were refugees or misplaced people from another land.  We all had a great time and learned a lot about migration.

On Monday we will do our first service project with the PK4 classes as the building things with cardboard.  My class will spend 45 minutes with the class helping where needed.  As the oldest students in the school, they can provide excellent roles models for these children who look up to them.

Thursday is the first Band day where students bring their instruments to school (hooray).  I will put it in their planners on Wednesday to remind them.

Students need to bring all their books and assignments back to school on Monday.  It is very hard to get work completed if they keep leaving things at home.  Please help them - anything that looks like school work/book (except library books) should come back to school on Monday.

Thank-you for helping your student with their family tree assignments this past week.  This week we are going to make a family tree poster with the information they have collected.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

daw.com - Oct 4

I do hope everyone had a happy Chuseok holiday and is rested and ready to go again.

First off let us all welcome Emma to our classroom.  She is new to Korea but not new to international schools.  I am sure the students will do their best to make her feel at home and welcome to 5D.

Our schedule this week is as follows;

Monday Oct 5 - in school (day 1 - Band & Library)

Tuesday Oct 6 - virtual at home (Day 2  - Art)

Wednesday Oct 7 - virtual at home (Day 3 - Band)

Thursday Oct 8 - in school (day 1 - Band and Library) *** This is the makeup day from Aug 18th.

Friday Oct 9 - PD day for teachers, no school

This week we will complete our first published writings.  I have now read over about 70% of the final drafts and what I see is quite varied.  Some students have learned what I have been teaching and either put it in to their writing or attempted to.  Others are still in the learning stage of this kind of in-depth writing,  This is not unusual as it is most likely the first time that they have had to write a narrative that not only tells the story but also give the reader a theme, in-depth look at the characters and highly descriptive scenes.  I have commented on all students who have shared their work with me.

I must ask all of you to please not be hovering during the home learning time,  You are not helping your student since they will not get this when in school and I am expecting to be full time in school within the next month. One of the goals of grade 5 is to make the students understand their own learning and when help is needed to ask for it - in teacher talk, having their own agency.  This should also be the entire time they are online learning.  While this can be a hard idea, we are built to learn from our mistakes and no mistakes does not make us better - just more reliant on others. Please find other things to do while your scholar is on line.  I am sure they will ask for help if they need it.

Students have band on Monday & Thursday but should NOT bring their instruments.  We still do not have clearance for students to play instruments or sing,.  We are expecting a change in this soon so please stay alert to this.  While students are at home, they can play their instrument but need to be 1-2 feet away from the computer which needs to be pointing to them.  This is quite a unique opportunity for students so I want to do the most we can when we are virtual.

This week is our first time we have library period so students should return all books in order to sign out more books for the rest of the next two weeks.  Our next unit is on non-fiction reading and writing and I will be requiring them to find books for this unit of study.  These books will go home as we continue with our 2-day on, 2-day off schedule.  As we have no idea how long this will continue, being on top of this is VERY important.

I have sent an email to each student of the things I am still missing from them.  Please help them locate these materials, finish the work or let me know when something is missing, The longer this takes the more impact it has on their learning. While there will be time to work on it on Monday, the only assignment that will be due on Monday is their THINGS I WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT ME poster and writing (the latter should have been completed about 5 weeks ago now).  If something is lost let me know so I can try to replace it.

Parent - teacher conferences are in about two weeks so be on the lookout for emails about how to sign up for these.  These emails will come from the ES office not from me.

Our new PYP unit is on Migration.  This week students will need some help from you regarding your family tree and movement over time.  Please assist when necessary.  It is a neat unit and really gets students looking into their own backgrounds as wells the plight of many people over the world who are either forced or choose to migrate.  This unit will go for about the next 6 weeks.

We continue our math unit on Multiplication and Division of whole numbers.  Not surprisingly, some students have really picked this up while others are struggling even after three weeks of learning.  As this is a unit that has a lot of impact for the rest of the year, we will work more and more on this over the next two weeks.  The test for this will be next week sometime.  We will do the pretest for the next unit, one of the two days we are in school this week.

For the first time since the start of the year, I have some pics to attach to this home letter.  Have a look at the engineering challenge we did.  There were some amazing outcomes with this.  Over all everyone had fun and it worked really well with our design unit.

daw.com - Sept 19

It was a great relief when I heard we will partially return to school this coming week.  We will change to a two-on, two-off schedule for the next two weeks of school.  Remember there is a national holiday in-between the two.  The exact schedule was in Mr. Prest’s announcement.

I sent home an email to all students outlining all the materials they need to bring back to school.  I would really appreciate it if you would take the time on Sunday night to work with your student to make sure everything comes back.  Again, learning will be impacted if they forget something at home.  The list is in the Back To School slideshow PDF.

I want to thank those parents who could attend Parent Back to School time on Tuesday and Thursday. I hope you got a good view of the up-coming year.  The PDF of the slide show with all the links is attached to this letter.

One issue that ALL of you need to consider is parental controls on your students computers.  With us being so heavily reliant on technology for learning, you can be guaranteed that all students have found the distractions like YouTube and Hangouts.  While I cannot prove this, I believe that 17 of my 20 students are actively on hangouts and YourTube during school lessons.  It is easy to say “not my student”, but I think you would be surprised to know that it is everyone in my class except those that already have parental controls on their computer.  There are a large number of reasons why I support controls all the way up to grade 10 - longer if there is a serious addiction. When a child is alone in their bedroom with their computer (something I am also totally against) they are all over the place online and this is definitely a distraction and has the potential of being a disaster (something I have been involved with in my years teaching). It is not a problem when we are full time in school since we only use computers for support and action.  At home, it is THE tool for learning.  If you want more information about this, the ICT department here at SFS can help out.  It really worked for a student of mine last year. Please research this and consider it.

Next week we will publish our first pieces of writing.  I cannot comment further on this as I have only seen about 25% of my students writing so I have no idea what to expect.  The drop folders I set up seem to be a problem for some students - something I am not sure why since the other 75% are working great.  I will be looking into this with the students when they come back to school next week.

There are some changes to our schedule for next week to accommodate the needs of some specialist teachers.  While the total amount of time is not changing, the classes are being rearranged to make the most of in-class time versus virtual time.  It is also my intent to start making the home time more of a project based time and the in-school time the instructional time. I am not sure how much longer we will remain in a hybrid learning mode, but I want to continue moving ahead. Most of these changes will happen after the national holiday.

I want to thank all of you for your support,  It has been very stressful for me these past 5 weeks so I can only imagine what it is like for your student.  I marvel at their flexibility and willingness - your scholars are truly an amazing bunch. It must also be a stressful time for you and that is why I am truly grateful for your unending help and positiveness.  I know that the students are thankful as well.

Please stay healthy and safe,

Harold Daw

daw.com - Sep 6

It has been another week of online and the students seem to be adjusting to it just fine.  Me on the other hand, not so well.  I really miss having my students in the class.  I keep hoping and praying that this ends really soon.

We are well along in our reading, writing and UOI units of study.  I can only go by the students who have shared their work with me but so far they are looking OK.  One of the biggest challenges online is the teacher getting to see the work of the students.  There is no perfect system for this.

I had three discussions about reading with parents this week so I want to share my thoughts.  Many of the students are stuck on current series reading novels.  While this does mean they are reading, I always ask the question are they learning?  Most series are just reruns of the first novel.  Formulaic writing that sells really well so the authors use to sell their books.  What concerns me is that the reading is a waste of learning time (not reading reading time which is good).  I want students at this age to start to expand their thinking as they read and not just read over and over for the sake of reading.  Many of our lessons so far, and many to come, revolve around the idea of thinking as you read and expanding on thoughts. Generally this is very hard with series books since most is already known from the first book.  While I know we do not have access to the school library at the moment, students can use Overdrive and Epic to select and read books.   Secondly, if the book is not a ‘bit’ of a challenge then once again there is probably not very much learning happening.  This is a hard one as almost none of us know if a book fits into this category.  If a child reads a book and understands all of it, it was not challenging enough.  That is what I tell my students.  It does not mean it was a bad book, just a book that was too easy for them.

This week in our UOI time, students will be deciding on a small project, planning the project, making the project (if possible) and then reflecting on the project.  They have about 10 to choose from.  This will mean not as much online time with me other than to ask questions and in need of clarification.  I have planned it this way as one of the things I want time to do is conference with my students.  I will be using this time to do this while the others are off on their project.

We have completed out first math unit and there will be an online assessment coming up this week.  Our next unit its multiplication and division of whole numbers to 1,000,000.  While most students will eventually use a calculator for this, this unit gives them the understanding of how it works.  One of the more interesting lessons in this unit us using a spreadsheet.

As part of the materials I sent home, there were some math extension booklets.  This is not how I would normally do this but given our situation, this is the next best thing.  They are to work on these when they have completed the regular daily math work.  We have also now used IXL which is kind of a drill program and Greg Tang Math which is more of a math game approach.  These are now part of our regular math repertoire and will be used very regularly.

We also started our Typing Club this week.  There are a lot of students who have used this in grade 4 and some from other schools as well.  There is only one rule about using this system, students must be using two hands to type.  While I cannot watch them while at home, I have told them that upon return to school, I will get after them if they are not using two hands.  Since middle and high school involve a huge number of assignments handed in typed, this is a good start to help them out.

IXL, Greg Tang Math and Typing club are always available at home if students are bored.

I hope everyone is happy and healthy in these unusual times we live in.  I told students that they are now part of history as I am sure it will be written about at some time in the future.

Regards,

Harold Daw

daw.com - Aug 21

It was truly wonderful to see all your scholars in school this week.  Their smiling and happy faces made my day.  I admit openly that being a people person makes me sad when we are online and very excited when we are in school.  It is just who I am.

Just a couple of important notes about organization
1.  All students are now linked in to their SFS Gmail account.  In this account I showed them where the calendar is on the right side and how to access all the zoom links. As this is new for them, I expect it will take us a few tries to get it right but once done, it will be very smooth sailing.  All my students said they liked this last year.

2.  Students brought home many things;
i) Yearbook and Calendar (only returning students - new students should already have a calendar and they do not get last year's yearbook)
ii) Set of COVID slips for about the next month or so - just cut and sign each day they come to school.  Please put somewhere safe as these are very important.
iii) A virtual learning workbook - this stays at home for use during our online learning.  I do not want them using any other book.  Please make sure they use this one and if they empty it, let me know and I will send a new one home.
iv) A virtual work folder.  This goes home and back each day as I will be putting in all the work we will need to do during our online time.  When that work is done, the work is put back in the folder and returned to school for my records and assessment.
v) Planner - each scholar needs to get this signed at home and return it to school each day.  There is only one per student so the need to take special care of it.

Please remember that tomorrow is a virtual day and meetings are 8:00, 10:30, 12:30 (PE), 1:30 and 2:30(languages). Now that students have their email accounts up and working they can email me as needed. We also set up Seesaw any Google Classroom since I want to start using these very soon.

I accidentally drowned my computer last night so I will need to get a new one tomorrow. Might be a delay in getting messages out and also replying.

This week is online Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

I will switch over to Seesaw starting tomorrow for parent letters so please make sure you can connect . I sent the connecting letter home last Wednesday so check with them if you did not get it. Thanks for looking after this.

Have a great day,

daw.com - June 6

We have come to the last week of grade 5 and I can say without any doubt how much I have enjoyed and learned with your students.  They are truly an amazing group of children and I see great things in their future.

There is no homework next week.  This is my gift to them, even though there would have been only two days anyway.  They were happy when I announced this to them.

Tuesday is the promotion ceremony starting at 10:45.  You should have received an email from Mr. Prest with the links to this. If not, please contact the ES office and they can help you out.  We will have a practice session on Monday.  Attire for this ceremony is concert attire - white shirt, black pants/skirt, black socks and dress shoes.  After this is over, my students will have PE so they will most likely want to change into their PE uniform.  However, it is free dress so they can choose to change as they wish.

We will start to clean out our room on Monday and I have asked students to bring an extra bag since there could be a lot of material going home.  Please discuss with your student the expectation you have about this.  I always encourage things to go home, but some students just throw everything away.  I leave this up to you.

Mrs. Breedlove is coming in on Tuesday afternoon to get everyone updated and cleaned up on their computer.  This is in preparation for middle school.

Summer check out of library books has started.  They can sign books out from either the ES or MS library but must do this electronically and the books will be delivered to them.  They all have a link from Mrs. Hanratty on how to do this that I sent to them over a week ago now.  It was also in my letter last week.

On Thursday students only need to bring their computer and a snack.  There is no lunch this day and the cafeteria is closed.  Busses will roll out of the school at 12:15 and summer break begins.

We are busy finishing off our Volume City project and also our Hero’s Journey silhouettes. These should be done and go home by Wednesday of next week.

There are no yearbooks this year as there was a glitch in getting them here in time.  Returning students will pick up their yearbook at the start of the year and those leaving will have them mailed out.  It does mean there will be no autographing so I am going to have a single sheet made up with everyone’s autographs and pictures.  They can just add this to their yearbook when they get it.

We said our goodbye to Hailey who is leaving this year and we also completed her farewell book.  We all wish her good luck in her new school and adventure.

It has been my honor and privilege to teach your students this year.  As I have remarked all year long, they are an amazing group and I do hope they will want to come back to visit sometime. I also want to thank all of you parents, especially for the last 3 months.  This was a unique time in history and one not planned for.  It tested all of us but we came through it and I am hoping it never happens again.  All of you are the true heroes this year and I salute you for a job well done.

Please stay safe and healthy over the summer break.

This is Mr. Daw signing off for the 19-20 school year.

daw.com - May 31

It was wonderful to welcome back your students last Wednesday after 3 months of on-line learning.  I am very proud of them for their effort over this prolonged and unusual time.

Please mark June 9th at 10:45 am on your calendar.  This is the time for the grade 5 promotion ceremony.  The link to watch this will be sent to you from the office.  If you do not get it by the end of the week, either email or call the ES office.  They can help you out.

This coming week has a couple of notable events that are on top of our regular class work.  First off is report cards go home on Thursday.  Second, if any of you need a year end conference with me, please let me know and I will set it up.  It still needs to be virtual, but that should not be a problem - I will continue to use whereby.com.

This week sees the start of summer library check out. As I have said all year, and reiterated with your students, none of them are perfect readers yet.  They have all grown since the start of the year and I do not see summer holidays as a reason to stop.  I encourage everyone to sign out a range of books in all genre (nonfiction, fiction, biography, history, poetry etc) for reading everyday over the summer.  No time specified, just a steady and continuous reading time every day.  Sign out is online this year as browsing the library is not allowed.  Here is a link to help your student pick books for the summer.  Remember, they can choose from the ES or MS libraries. The electronic library, Overdrive, is available all the time over the summer as well.

Link to instructions for library sign out - https://sites.google.com/view/summercheckout/home?authuser=1

Our last art class as well as our last session with Mrs. Adams is this week.  We will thank them both and wish them well over the summer.

Our reading unit on fantasy is moving along well.  I have asked all students to have their books completed by Monday June 1.  We have started our Hero’s Journey project and it will take most of the week.  We also have to complete our book summary this week.  If students have been keeping good notes this will not be a problem.

We have finished our two memoirs now and I have to say they were impressive.  There are things I have learned about your students from these that I did not know before.  This unit now switches over to UOI as we complete two parts for transitions.  One is our transitions journal and the second is our year end slideset.  We have also finished with our UOI Padlet where the students did a great job.

Our math unit on volume and surface area is almost complete and will end with a Volume City project probably starting bout Wednesday. This is where they will design and build their own city giving the volume and surface area of the constructions.  Students also have their previous math project to complete.  I even have a couple of people doing both of these.  Good job.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

daw.com - February 19

Exhibition is here and the students are in the final stages of completing their Central Idea and Lines of Inquiry.  Most of them have a complete plan of action and an idea for a presentation.  These are the three main components of Exhibition.  We will spend the next 5-6 weeks looking at research and how to use original sources, multimedia, personal information and print media to research the topic and create a report.  There is a lot going on with this and everyone seems excited.

We are also working on our design unit and bringing it to a close later this week.  It is a very short unit to show students the process of design as defined by SFS.  They work with each other as clients to direct the design through to prototype only.  It has been a fun unit that will lead directly into Exhibition.

Our reading and writing units are also leading to exhibition as students prepare for a mini-debate this week on the use of bottled water and write a letter about sugared drinks (chocolate milk) being served at schools.  They will then choose a topic from a list I have to complete the second part of the reading and writing units.  I expect these to be completed in the next two weeks.

We had a meeting for Dongdaewong yesterday in which students were introduced to the idea of creating their own businesses.  I hope everyone participates in this wonderful fund raising activity.  A couple of changes this year are no food or drinks at all and parents will nit be allowed to participate at the school.  You can still give your student all the help they need.  They do get to keep 50% of the profits they make at their business.  The DDW fair is on March 6th.

There is also a Why I Love My School contest on (see attached poster) that I would hope many of the students would enter.  We have talked about school culture being all about the students and this is one way to show it.  Contest entries close on Feb 28th.

The math assessment for Chapter 8 went home yesterday so please ask your student for it if you have not seen it.  Our next unit is on multiplying and dividing decimals.  It is a short unit and I expect to be completed by next Friday, February 28th.

We will be taking two trips to the Middle School to look at the various music options for grade 6 next year.  These have been set up by our own music department and will help when students have to make a final choice.  We are also in process of completing the dates and times for all the other transition to middle school topics over the next several months.

You should have received your packet about returning to SFS next year last Friday.  If you did not, please ask your student about this.  They all got one.  This is important and we begin to plan for the future and next year at SFS.

We continue to monitor and react to the virus situation here in Korea and I happy that we are healthy.  I hope we can remain at school so please keep everyone happy and healthy.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

daw.com - February 9

Last week was a great week to wrap things up and start new projects.

We finished our unit on Poetry and invited the grade 4 classes to come up, share some hot chocolate, and listen and learn about poetry.  It was our first poetry cafe.  Everyone did an excellent job and it was a lot of fun to watch the class show their poetry skills to a younger audience.

Then on Thursday was our Share your experience activity.  There were 15 guest speakers who spent 10 minutes talking to small groups of 6-7 students.  The were activities from within the British School, High School, and guests in the fields of Art, Community Service, Physical Activity, Creativity, Family and Community and the Christian Ministries office.  I was very impressed by the students learning as we move into selecting our topic for Exhibition.

That will be a big part of this week.  There are already 8 students in line to conference with me and the rest will happen throughout the week.  It is an exciting time in students learning.

We will complete part 1 of the Decimals unit this week and immediately move into part 2 - operations with decimals.  So far things have gone smoothly and students have shown good learning.  I will be sending the first work book home with students on Monday.  There are lots of things in there we never did or only partly did - if they are looking to practice some more.

We also started our writing unit on the argumentative essay.  Our classroom learning topic is the question of whether or not Chocolate milk should be served in school.  We looked at two articles and decided they were very biased toward the subject, so the information collected was a little suspect.  A flash draft to write this week and then more research needed.  This is an assigned topic to learn with and then students will be able to select from about 7-8 others when it comes time to do their own essay.  Right in line with our prep for Exhibition.

Our reading unit is similar having to do with Argument and Advocacy.  Our topic for this is the use of plastic bottles.  Like the writing unit, this is an assigned unit to learn from and then students will be able to select from 7-8 topics for themselves.

Please stay healthy, I believe it is now 24 confirmed cases of the virus here in South Korea.  Keep well hydrated, wash very often and try to avoid large groups.  This is the advice of the school, WHO and CDC-Korea.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

daw.com - February 2

As we start a new month it is also once again time to start with fresh new ideas and concepts.  This is the everlasting story of grade 5.

Last week we competed our math unit on Ratios and the unit assessment will go home on Monday.  I must admit that all the work on problems solving seems to finally be coming a reality.  While not perfect, this was the best assessment for problem solving I have seen so far.  I plan on keeping this going for two reasons.  The first is math - problem solving is what math is all about.  How can we use numbers to solve a problem. Sometimes it is very easy while other times it can be quite complex.  The second reason is not even math related.  Reading the problems too understand us exactly what all the reading lessons this year are about - reading for a deeper meaning.  As I have mentioned before, everyone in the room has shown me they can read but reading for a deeper understanding is something new to this age group and takes many years to become good at.  Starting now helps on this journey.

Speaking of reading, our new unit is on Argument and Advocacy.  Students will be reading articles, books and websites to develop an understanding of an issue and then from there develop either an argument or advocacy on the issue.  Having a personal stake in the issue is good, but all personal opinions must be supported with facts.  Determining what is fact and ‘fantasy’ can be a hard road to ride and this unit will look at ways to do this.  We will also be doing several lessons on how to properly search the internet as I have noticed this is a skill that is lacking in the class.

To accomplish this reading unit, the writing unit is on writing essays that persuade.  Once again, having a deep understanding of an issue is what it is all about.  Making sure that the writer sees, and writes about both sides of an issue is what we will specialize on.  It will also help students as they prepare for their exhibition report since it will most likely fit this category of writing.

Speaking of exhibition, we are right in line with selecting topics of study, central ideas, and guiding questions.  We looked at how to narrow the focus of a topic last week and this week there were be several times when this is put into practice.  We will also complete our look at the Approaches to Learning and Action Plans.  On Thursday students will have an opportunity to see action in practice here at SFS with a speed dating time around various action groups both here on Campus and within our parent community.

Our next math unit is a short unit on Decimals to the thousandths.  Very quick and I expect to finish the teaching this week with the assessment next week.  After this is more on operations involving decimals.

On Friday I sent home a permission sheet for a field trip later in February.  Due to the health restrictions currently in place, this trip will have to be postponed too sometime in the future - date not set yet.  Please destroy the permission slip.  I will send an update home later when it has been reset.

Please stay healthy - we live in interesting times.
